An Overview of The Current Scenario of Human Monkeypox

Abstract

Monkeypox is a zoonotic illness caused by the human monkeypox virus (MPXV), an Orthopoxvirus. After an epidemic of monkeypox broke out in 2022, the WHO and the US Department of Health and Human Services declared it a national emergency. Current effort is to treat and avoid the spread of monkeypox involve the use of novel medicines and vaccinations. The present situation of human monkeypox is discussed, as well as its epidemiology, diagnosis, pathogenesis & therapy, in this review article.
